Ms. Seddiqeh Shakeri, Deputy for Research at Jamiat al‑Zahra (s), announced the release of the call for submissions for this year’s conference, emphasizing that women’s knowledge and research have always played a vital role in the scientific and cultural development of societies. She noted that today, more than ever, introducing and supporting the valuable works of women scholars can strengthen academic cooperation and promote the exchange of experiences at national and international levels.
She explained that the Fifth Women’s Book of the Year Conference, with its international orientation and acceptance of submissions in Persian, Arabic, and English, provides a platform to identify, showcase, and honor outstanding works by women researchers, while expanding scholarly collaboration in the fields of Islamic and human sciences.
Ms. Shakeri outlined the submission criteria, stating that works published between 2023 and 2026 (1402–1405 AHS) are eligible. Accepted formats include authored books, translations, critical editions, scientific–research articles, and Level‑Four seminary dissertations or doctoral theses defended by women.
She added that submissions must fall within one of the following fields: Qur’anic exegesis and sciences, hadith studies, logic, philosophy and theology, ethics and mysticism, history and biography, jurisprudence and law, principles of jurisprudence and methodology, literature and arts, educational sciences and psychology, sociology, religions and denominations, Islamic economics, Mahdism studies, management and futures studies.
The Deputy also highlighted the special theme of this year’s conference—Women and Family. Key topics include:
• the Muslim woman and religious identity in the contemporary world,
• family and Islamic lifestyle amid global challenges,
• hijab and modesty from Qur’anic foundations to global debates,
• women and gender justice in Islamic thought in comparison with contemporary approaches,
• women’s roles in peace, resistance, and global governance,
• women, media, and narrative warfare in international arenas,
• women’s contribution to knowledge production in Islamic and human sciences,
• interfaith and intercivilizational dialogue centered on women and family,
• Muslim women in migration, minority communities, and Western societies,
• women and the emerging Islamic civilization,
• the Muslim woman and chaste activism,
• women’s health in its various dimensions,
• women’s roles in governance, legislation, and policymaking.
Ms. Shakeri concluded by inviting interested participants to register on the conference website and submit one copy of their work.
